Welcome to my new website!

Hello, and welcome to my new website and my first official blog post here. I hope to keep in touch with my readers on this blog. I won’t blog every day but I will be here as much as possible.

What a summer I’ve had. Since my eye doctor told me I needed cataract surgery, I scheduled it for June because I knew it would be miserably hot outside and I wouldn’t mind being shut-in for a while. However, the left eye was the worst and it kept being worse after the surgery. Nothing horrible, it just took a while to heal because of cornea problems. So the right eye was finally done last week and I’m seeing just great. It was an easier procedure and as of now that eye is healing fast, thankfully. It’s weird not having my glasses. I’ve worn glasses off and on since my early twenties. Now I’ll just need readers for tiny print.

Whew, glad that is over. In the middle of this I finished my first independently published book. The Sweetheart Deal is a book of my heart—set in Florida near all my favorite places and full of family and friends and a sweet romance that started when my hero and heroine were in kindergarten.  (My husband and I met when we were that age because one of my sisters and her husband lived in a cottage in his grandparents back yard! He was an Army brat, so he came and went several times. When he returned in high school, I knew he’d be the boy I’d marry. We’ve been together for over fifty years now.)

The Sweetheart Deal is not our story but has moments of how we felt in it for sure. I’m excited about this new adventure, about my lovely new website and about this blog. I hope this will be the first book of a series, all set in Florida on Sweetheart Bay. I have all these ideas in my head….
